Automatically sync files across your computers - sync between PCs and Macs:
· Sync files across your computers and access any file from any device. Start editing a file on your office PC and complete your work on your home Mac. No need to email files, connect to VPN or use key drives. Sync your family's computers - it's easier than setting up a home network. Note that the Mac component is currently in Beta.
Computers that you sync don't have to be online at the same time:
· Unlike other products, SugarSync allows you to sync computers even if any of your devices is offline. For example, is your home computer off? You can still sync files to it from any other device. The next time your home computer is online, any file edits you make will sync automatically.
Lite sync - Sync files without permanently copying files on all computers:
· Worried about hard drive space? Sync files without replicating them on all computers - files are made available to you on demand. With the optional Full Sync, files are automatically synced, merged and replicated across your computers, thus taking up disk space. Choose the better option for you.
Sync files to your personal website for anytime access and secure backup:
· SugarSync continuously syncs and backs up files from your computer to your secure, personal SugarSync website. Upload a file through your website, and it will sync back to your computer. You can remotely access files from any web browser, and all your files are backed up for you.
Sync camera phone pictures and digital photos between your computer and phone:
· With SugarSync Mobile, photos you take with your camera phone are automatically synced to your computer. It's the easiest way to save these photos. Any photos you have on your computer can be synced to your phone. Photos of your loved ones can now be with you wherever you go.
Uploading:
· For maximum security, when you sync files to SugarSync's servers, your files are sent over the Internet using SSL (Secure Socket Layer) encryption, the industry standard for secure Web communications. This means that your computer and our server go through a "handshake process" - every piece of information moved between them is verified as a secure communication before changing hands.
Backup:
· Once your data reaches our servers, files are encrypted with 128-bit AES, the same level of hacker-proof protection used by major banks. Your data is stored and backed up in two geo-redundant, carrier-grade data centers, including Amazon's S3 facility. SugarSync does not just sync your files, we back up the synced copies as well.
Downloading:
· When you download your files to any computer or mobile phone, they undergo the same rigorous standards we apply to uploaded files: all data is encrypted before leaving SugarSync servers so you can be sure you're the only one to see them when you access them.
